Texas Pete Twin City RibFest

AKA owns and produces this food festival now in its seventh year. Since its creation in 2005,
the Texas Pete Twin City RibFest has become one of the largest food events in the state of North
Carolina, regularly hosting upwards of 30,000 attendees each year. It takes place every June. The
event's formula is simple, Hot Ribs, Cold Beer, and Cool Music. The 2007 RibFest was recognized
nationally in Bon Appetit magazine, Blueprint magazine, and on MarthaStewart.com.
EAST WEST BBQ FEST

No other state in the union celebrates its barbecue more than North Carolina. And, no other
state has a century long debate over just what type of barbecue can be proclaimed as its
"native style".Two distinct styles of barbecue originated in the Tar Heel state, the "Eastern
Style" and the "Lexington Style", also referred to as the "Western Style". NC barbecue fans
seem equally divided as to which style is the best.

Unfortunately, there is not a festival that actively seeks to bring the best of both styles together
in one place. The East West BBQ Fest will do just that, but unlike other festivals that feature
competition and awards, the East West BBQ Fest there will make no official proclamation of
which style is superior, but rather a celebration of uniqueness. We will leave it up to the
attendees to decide on their own which style they prefer. The festival's goal is to promote the
state's barbecue restaurants, generate significant income for the participating vendors,
provide great music and great fun in a geographically central community which will reap
economic benefits from the many festival attendees.
